English Immersion for Adults

Rwanda. In Summer 2024 colleagues and I are creating a curriculum for young teachers to practice English. The teachers will be part of a large and ongoing simulation to create lots of natural opportunities to interact in English. 15 faculty, 100 participants, 2 weeks, Summer 2024.

Research Writing Prep for Grade 10

Taiwan. Zhong Zheng High School, which recently adopted The IB Diploma Programme, requested a virtual course about research and writing. I created a program in which students use Kanban to choose and prioritize challenging tasks in research and writing the Extended Essay. 2 sessions, 90 minutes each, Spring 2024.

United Call for Education Systems Reform

Virtual. I co-authored a statement of The Coalition to Honour All Learning calling on individuals and organizations to take school reform seriously and to act urgently. 200 hundred signatories and counting. Spring 2024.

Constructed Languages

London / Virtual. I designed curriculum and taught virtual and face to face courses in language construction as an introduction to linguistics. 8 students, 6 weeks. Listen to one of the students introduce himself in the video to the right. Spring 2023.

Virtual Communities of Practice

Virtual. Four colleagues and I are creating a no-fee framework which supports action research as professional development. Educators work on passion projects in a supportive cohort. The initiative is informed by over a decade of experience in a program I developed for Leysin American School. 15 participants in the first cohort, semester long, 2024.

Face to Face Communities of Practice

Switzerland. Face to face training on teacher-led professional learning in the context of the IB Programme. 4 trainers, 8 teachers, 1 week.

Visiting Scholar

Poland / Switzerland. I was in residence for one week at Akademeia High School in Warsaw. Two teachers then visited my school in Switzerland. 2 research papers, 1 presentation at the 2024 ECIS Leadership Conference in London. 2023-2024 school year.
